I started downloading a game. It reached 9GB out of 12GB total. I paused the download and shutdown my computer to go outside, but when I logged back in again in Steam, the game's download reset to. This one download is taking forever and I want to play a game and then probably turn off the system. Download is at 18% and I don't want to lose the progress. Others have already answered, but to clarify, you never lose progress. You won't lose progress. I always have a lot of games installed. Nearly all the time I get updates. I don't care. I shutdown my pc each night. I don't look at the updates, it just works. So, yes, just shutdown your pc, ignore tips which make you do anything.
